"One Shining Day" Africa for Christ
Over the past 50 years, the continent of Africa has been one of the most fruitful fields for the Lord’s work in all of the world. God has richly blessed the Lord’s work on that continent and it is our prayer that it will continue to grow and prosper. Africa has also suffered from famine, drought, civil wars, Aids and many other tragedies that have left sections of the continent devastated.
We are blessed in the Lord’s church to have missionaries and ministry programs that meet so many needs over there. On May 20, 2007, we are asking our fellow Christians all across America to join us in a special contribution day . . . “One Shining Day” for Africa. It is our prayer that each able family will join in this effort by contributing $20 to support some of the outstanding works in Africa. This year the works to be supported by the “One Shining Day” contributions will be:

- World Bible Translation Center | www.wbtc.com
Partnered together with these ministries, we can make a significant impact by:
- training men to serve
- feeding the hungry
- caring for the sick
- distributing the word to the lost
How can your congregation participate?
- A separate contribution could be taken, asking each family who wishes to participate to give $20;
- Collection boxes could be set up in the back of the auditorium for those who wish to give as they leave the worship service;
- Anything that exceeds the normal Sunday budget could be designated for this effort; OR
- Designate an individual in the congregation to head up the program and collect the contributions.
